Off the plane and straight to your site.

Plenty of what lands at Manchester is dangerous goods. Once your forwarder releases it, we collect from the shed and drive it straight to you under ADR, on one vehicle, with no depot in between. Exports work the other way round, delivered to acceptance before the cut-off.

RULES: ICAO / IATA RULES: ADR
Air labels, road rules

Same box. Different rulebook.

Goods that come in by air are labelled for air. ADR lets them go by road like that when the journey includes a flight, but the paperwork and the van have to be right for the road. That switch is where loads get stuck at the shed door, and it's the bit we sort before we turn up.

  • Shipper's declaration for dangerous goods
  • Packed, marked and labelled to the air rules
  • Cargo Aircraft Only label where the goods can't go in a passenger hold
  • Handled by the airline and the handling agent
  • Same box, same labels. No relabelling needed for the road leg.
  • Transport document marked "Carriage in accordance with 1.1.4.2.1"
  • Orange plates on the van, ADR certified driver, safety kit on board
  • Route checked against tunnel codes before we set off

FAQs

Questions we get asked

Can you collect from Manchester Airport?

Yes, from the World Freight Terminal and the forwarders around the airport. Once your goods are released, send us the collection reference and the dangerous goods paperwork and we'll book the slot.

My goods are labelled for air. Can they go by road?

Usually, yes. ADR accepts air marking and labelling when the journey is part of a chain that includes a flight, as long as the transport document says so. We check the paperwork before we collect.

Can you get my goods to the airport for a flight cut-off?

Yes. Tell us the forwarder, the acceptance point and the cut-off when you book, and we'll plan the collection around it. The packaging needs to meet the air rules before it goes, so sort that with your forwarder first.

Do you cover all of Greater Manchester?

Yes, every borough, plus the airport. We're on the M62 most days.

Can you collect lithium batteries for recycling?

Yes. Let us know their condition when you book, especially if any are damaged, swollen or have overheated, because that changes how they have to be packed. We carry damaged and defective batteries too.

Are there tunnel restrictions in Manchester?

No. None of Great Britain's ADR-categorised tunnels are in Greater Manchester, so journeys within the city aren't affected. It only comes into play once a load heads to the Wirral or London, and we plan for that when you book.

How far ahead do I need to book?

Same-day collections are often possible. Ring us on 0151 271 0121 and we'll tell you straight away.
