We collect dangerous goods from right across Merseyside and take them straight to where they need to go, whether that's down the road in Speke or the other end of the country. We're based in Bootle, a few minutes from the docks, so when something needs moving at short notice we're rarely far away.
✓ Price confirmed before we collect · ✓ No obligation
So we know the roads, the estates and the quirks of getting in and out of the port. We regularly collect from:
Based in Bootle, L20
A few minutes from the docks
We carry every class of dangerous goods except radioactive, from a single box to a full van. Around Liverpool that's often imports off the port, reagents and samples from Speke and the universities, lithium batteries, gas cylinders, and paints and chemicals from the manufacturers in Knowsley. If it's dangerous goods and it's on Merseyside, we can move it, wherever it's heading.
Going over the water
Both Mersey tunnels are ADR Category D. Some loads can go through after a declaration to the tunnel police, others can't go through at all. We check your load's tunnel code when you book, so the route and the time we give you are already right.
Through the Kingsway. We stop at the police declaration point on the way in, then straight under the river to the Wirral.
Round by the Mersey Gateway. A longer run via Widnes and Runcorn, with the extra time already built into your collection slot.
Real loads, our vans
These are ours: our vans and real dangerous goods, strapped and plated for the road. No stock pictures of somebody else's lorry.
A forwarder has a pallet of corrosives (Class 8) landed at Royal Seaforth, and a manufacturer needs it that afternoon. We check the dangerous goods note before we set off, collect from the quay and drive it straight there, with no depot stop in between.
Purple B was founded by David Hughes after more than 24 years in British Army logistics, transport and operational planning. The planning, the paperwork and the accountability came with him.
Yes, from Royal Seaforth, Liverpool and the rest of the port estate. Send the dangerous goods note when you book and we'll check the paperwork for the road journey before we arrive.
Most of Merseyside is within half an hour of our base, so short-notice collections are usually possible. Give us a ring on 0151 271 0121 and we'll tell you honestly when we can be there.
Only if it's allowed through. We check the tunnel code first, declare it at the police point, and use the Mersey Gateway when the tunnels are off limits.
The UN number and class, how much there is and how it's packed, the collection and delivery postcodes, and when it needs to arrive. If you're missing something, ring us anyway and we'll help you work it out.
